Military Point of Contact: Mr. Ok Hubble

Mr. Hubble is a retired Technical Sergeant of the United States Air Force. During his time, he has deployed multiple times to Iraq and Afghanistan as a Security Forces member or as part of a specialized Critical Care Air Transport Team. He has been awarded numerous awards for leadership and volunteering.

AVID PROGRAM 

AVID is a program that provides students with academic, social, and emotional support that will help them succeed in their school’s most rigorous courses. The AVID Elective is designed to close the opportunity gap by preparing students for college and career readiness and ensuring that all students are equipped to be successful in a global society.  Johnson Middle School implemented the AVID program in 2000.

CAMBRIDGE PROGRAM
The Cambridge Program at Johnson Middle School strives to prepare students for a rigorous course of study at whichever high school they plan to attend. Primarily our students continue into the Cambridge AICE Program at Eau Gallie High School.

Resources and Educational Opportunities

Athletics
Boys and girls can participate in basketball, soccer, track, and volleyball and cheer. Students must have a completed physical packet and show up for tryouts. If you don’t want to play, be sure to watch the game schedules and come out to cheer on your fellow Longhorns!

Student Led Transition Program

Military-connected students at Johnson Middle School will be greeted and taken on a campus tour of the school coordinated by our Military Point of Contact Mr. Hubble and our Student Transition Team Coordinator, Seath Hubble. Tours will include introductions to key personnel and information on Johnson’s policies, procedures, sports, and activities. Students of military families will check in with the MPOC, Mr. Hubble, and their grade-level guidance counselor as needed to ensure a successful transition to Johnson Middle School.

Military students will also enjoy weekly meetings/activities in the Media Center on Friday mornings to meet other students and make new friends. A calendar of events will be posted in the media center to keep students updated on what’s happening.
